Lugnuts Suffer 7-5 Road Loss
The Fort Wayne TinCaps topped the Lansing Lugnuts, 7-5, in Midwest League action at Parkview Field. The standout performance belonged to Fort Wayne pitcher and Las Yayas de Viajama, Dominican Republic, native Cole De La Rosa. The winning pitcher was De La Rosa, now 1-2. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Jorge Medina closed the game out for Fort Wayne, earning his 7th save.

Dan Harkema had a big grand slam home run for the TinCaps in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Fort Wayne leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Ugueth Salgado and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the TinCaps on top, 6-1.

"Enjoyed this one," De La Rosa told the Fort Wayne Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The setback makes Lansing 40-43.
