River Bandits Score Late to Beat Wolverines, 2-1
|
Modern Woodmen Park was host to some action-packed drama.
The Quad Cities River Bandits earned a close win over the Flint Wolverines, thanks in part to Apostolos Galis. The Quad Cities right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the MID with a 2.55 ERA, played a key role in the 10-inning, 2-1 victory. Quad Cities is now 42-39.
The River Bandits got a clutch hit from shortstop Antonio Nova. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the River Bandits.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Galis said in his postgame press conference.
