Narrow Win Takes Ames Streak to 8
The Ames Sod Poodles found a way to sneak past the Westside Woolly Mammoths, 7-6, in 11 innings. Ames right fielder Ian Gasperetti, for one, had a standout performance. Emiliano Aguayo picked up the save for Ames, his 3rd of the year. The Sod Poodles, at 50-27, sit in second place in the Midwest League Western Division.

Felipe Reyes provided a timely hit. The Ames first baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the 11th inning to put the Sod Poodles on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Sod Poodles manager Jake DiVita. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
