Boosted by the 2-hit performance of Steven Higgins the Westside Woolly Mammoths defeated the Dayton Dragons, 7-1. Westside reliever Kent Sogge got the win, raising his record to 3-2. Rodney Porter was tagged with the loss. The Woolly Mammoths, now 39-35, have won 5 in a row.

In the bottom of the second, Westside catcher Shaun Barretti had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Barretti stroked a run-scoring single to right-center. It made the score 2-0, Westside. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
