With 9-2 Win, Loons Improve to 44-28
|
Great Lakes pitcher Chucky Bond did his part in helping his team defeat the Dayton Dragons, 9-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. In 6 innings, Bond surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Great Lakes is now 44-28, Dayton 32-40.
Great Lakes used a clutch at-bat from Romeo Devis to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Loons ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Felt great, felt really good," said Bond.
