River Bandits Take Tight Tango, 2-1
|
The Beloit Snappers got a superb performance from pitcher Jimmy Jay Sherry. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Quad Cities. The River Bandits won the game, 2-1. Sherry threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Levi Flaherty earned save number 13. Quad Cities is 39-29 and Beloit, with the loss, 30-38.
Tommy Krause came through with a big-time hit for Quad Cities. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Beloit manager T.J. Saddler.
