Stumbo Delivers Walk-Off Win for Sod Poodles
Murray Smearman had a strong outing for the Ames Sod Poodles against the Beloit Snappers at Community Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The win belonged to Adam Burwell in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Mason Cullen took the loss for Beloit. Ames is now 28-34, while Beloit is 39-23.

Ames got a knockout punch from Alex Stumbo. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"This place sure got loud," said Jake DiVita, the Ames manager.
