Dock Spiders Take Tight Tilt
|
The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders welcomed the Dayton Dragons to an night game at Fifth Third Field.
The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders stopped the Dayton Dragons, 4-3, behind an impressive performance from Jerónimo Maldonado. The 23-year old right fielder made life miserable for Dayton pitching. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. Boris Cange went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. The left-hander struck out 6 and walked 0. With the win, he ups his record to 4-0 this season. Steffen Ricardo finished the game for Fond du Lac and earned his 2nd save.
Fond du Lac used the hitting of Michael Puckett to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Dock Spiders on top, 3-0. For the game, Puckett had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Put the ball in play and good things will happen," said Maldonado.
The win makes Fond du Lac 16-41, nothing to write home about.
