The Indianapolis Ignition defeated the Seattle Mariners, 4-3, in American League action at T-Mobile Park. Apolo Contreras pulled his weight. The 10-year veteran was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Gunnar Thomson picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ronald Payne took the loss. Dave Porcello earned the save for Indianapolis, his 2nd.

Stan Kralik had a direct impact on the outcome. Kralik contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Indianapolis up, 4-3.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Seattle manager Jose Perez.

With the win, Indianapolis goes to 6-4.
