River Bandits Grind Out 2-0 Win
|
Both offenses were feeble at Modern Woodmen Park. Fortunately for the Quad Cities River Bandits, though, Dylan Neal delivered in the clutch. He went 1 for 3 with a home run, to help his team topple the Cedar Rapids Haymakers, 2-0. Quad Cities reliever Dermot Hadley picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Zach Weatherholt took the loss. The save went to Cameron Bullinger, number 4 for him.
Quad Cities took a 2-0 lead on Brennan Sullivan's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Sullivan hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cedar Rapids pitcher Chase Collins visibly frustrated.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Sullivan said.
The 4th-place River Bandits go to 29-26.
