In a tight contest at Community Field, the Ames Sod Poodles edged the Great Lakes Loons by the score of 9-8. Ames catcher Alexis Combest, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Isaiah Wilkes snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. Ames is now 26-29.

Danny Dennis was 1 for 4 for Ames. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 8-8 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dax York. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
