Sod Poodles Use Late Rally to Win 5th Straight
|
Ames Sod Poodles starter Steven Talley turned in a top-notch performance against the Flint Wolverines at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. The result was a win for the Sod Poodles, 5-2. Ames reliever Dilan Lacinski picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Diego Castillo was tagged with the loss. M.J. Prosperi earned the save for Ames, his 13th.
Renato Romero, the 20-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Romero contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Ames up, 2-0.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Romero told the Ames Herald.
The Sod Poodles sit in third place in the Midwest League Western Division with a record of 28-22.
