The Woolly Mammoths faced a stiff challenge from Flint pitcher Trent Horton, but persevered to claim a win at Municipal Stadium. The final score was 1-0. Horton went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belongs to Josh Ball in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Trent Horton took the loss for Flint. Dustin Cuella recorded the save for Westside, his 7th of the season.
Jimmy Alicea was a prime contributor to the Westside win. He was 1-3. In the bottom of the fourth with two out, the 19-year old third baseman hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 1-0, in favor of the Woolly Mammoths.
"We did just enough to win," Alicea said.
Westside now has a 3-game win streak.
