Wolverines Win, 6-4, in Extra Frames
|
The Flint Wolverines licked the Great Lakes Loons, 6-4, in 10 innings. Alejandro Rivera deserved much of the credit. The first baseman went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Wolverines. Caleb Hartig, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. With the win, the Wolverines sit at 23-17.
Rivera had a game-changing double in the top of the tenth. On a 0-2 slider from Noah Rendon, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Wolverines a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Rivera.
Rivera called getting the win a "good ending to a long game."
