Cubs Rally to Win
|
The South Bend Cubs faced a tough opponent in Quad Cities pitcher Apostolos Galis, but still scratched out a win at Modern Woodmen Park by a final score of 2-1 in 10 innings. Galis went 6 innings and allowed no runs. South Bend is now 10-28.
Joaquin Gamble hit a run-scoring triple off P.J. Brown in the top of the tenth, which put the Cubs in front, 2-1. Gamble had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Gamble.
