The Lansing Lugnuts put together a convincing win at Cooley Law School Stadium, defeating the Ames Sod Poodles, 13-3. Juan Alfonso was one of the hitting stars. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for Lansing. The victory gives Lansing a record of 23-13.

With Lansing leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Alfonso hit a sinker from Victor Bustos for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Lugnuts ahead, 6-1.

"I have nothing to complain about," said winning manager Mitch Carmichael after the game.
