Haymakers Tack 6-2 Loss on Peoria
|
The Cedar Rapids Haymakers bested the Peoria Chiefs, 6-2, at Dozer Park. Emanuel Joy was one of the standouts. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Despite the win, the Haymakers have a lousy 10-25 record.
Cedar Rapids relied on the hitting of Benito Guillen to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Haymakers on top, 4-2. For the game, Guillen had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Joy said after the game.
