Robbins Excels, But Dragons Win
|
Beloit center fielder Parker Robbins had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Robbins went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, even as Dayton beat the Snappers, 11-10. The Snappers, at 15-18, have lost 4 straight games.
Had Noah Ryan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ryan hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 11-10, in favor of the Dragons.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Ryan. "I just want to win ballgames."
