The St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets by a score of 7-2. St. Louis shortstop Conrad Myers Jr. deserved the lion's share of the credit. Myers Jr. went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Cardinals. New York, with the loss, is still a hardy 6-2.

The Cardinals got a big at-bat from left fielder Larry Cline. For the game, Cline went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave St. Louis a 3-1 lead.
