Braves Win, Barrie 3-for-3
|
Woody Barrie was a vital contributor to the 10-5 Atlanta victory over Houston. The Braves second baseman went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The loss lowers the Houston record to 2-6.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the third. That's when Braves designated hitter Juan Alfonso hit a fastball from Leo Chavira for a 2-run single. Just like that, Atlanta was up, 3-2.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Alfonso said. "We did a good job of that today."
