Ida Sherod had a strong outing for the Great Lakes Loons against the South Bend Cubs at Dow Diamond. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Sherod got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 8th save of the year was Dan Grayson.

With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Brycen Robinson hit a go-ahead, 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and with it the Loons took a 4-1 lead.

"This team is flying high right now," said Sherod after the game.

Great Lakes, with the win, is 18-6.
