Ames right fielder Felipe Reyes had a good game, even if his team did not. The Sod Poodles dropped a 7-6 decision to Beloit at Harry C. Pohlman Field. Reyes went 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Will McDonnell came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Jeremiah Harvey collected save number 5.

In the bottom of the sixth, B.J. Roppolo delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Beloit first baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Snappers in front, 7-6.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Roppolo told the Beloit Gazette.

The win lifts Beloit to a record of 10-12.
