Win Makes Woolly Mammoths 12-11
Westside starter Thomas Brown kept the Quad Cities offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his sinker in leading the Woolly Mammoths to a 3-0 win. The defending champion Woolly Mammoths have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 12-11 with the win.

Arsenio Guzman had a big 2-run double for the Woolly Mammoths in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Westside leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Dennis Border and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Woolly Mammoths ahead, 3-0.

"You can't win if you don't score any runs," said losing manager Nate Holts. "You don't need Confucius to tell you that."
