Captains Get 11th Straight Win with Late Rally
|
The Lake County Captains did just enough to secure a victory over the Clinton LumberKings, 5-4, at Classic Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Antonio Santiago. Lake County is a blistering 19-2.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 4-4, designated hitter Blake Clayton won it for Lake County. With a runner on 3rd, Clayton hit a 1-2 changeup from Kai Edwards for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 5-4 win.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Santiago said in his postgame press conference.
