With Late Score, Lugnuts Beat Loons
The inspired effort of Great Lakes right fielder Sampson McNally was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Lansing Lugnuts. McNally was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Lansing reliever Justin Roy picked up the win to move to 3-0. Peter Salazar suffered the loss. Von Morello picked up the save for Lansing, his 2nd of the year.

Lansing third baseman Rupert Boston contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the Lugnuts ahead, 2-0.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Lansing manager Mitch Carmichael. "It's usually not just one thing."

Lansing is now 10-10.
