The Clinton LumberKings got production up and down the lineup while beating the Ames Sod Poodles, 14-1. One standout was third baseman John Pascoe. Pascoe was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 5. The LumberKings raised their record to 11-6.

With Clinton trailing 1-0 in the top of the third, Pascoe hit a changeup from Jimy Pineda for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the LumberKings ahead, 4-1.

"We fell flat on our faces," Ames manager Jake DiVita said, when asked afterward about the game.
