Flint pitcher Jason Holly had a large part in his team subduing the Cedar Rapids Haymakers, 5-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Holly, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. With the win, Flint improves its record to 10-6.

In the bottom of the fourth, Flint third baseman Rodrigo Quintero had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and no one out, Quintero stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, Flint. For the game, he went 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We did the things it takes to win a ballgame," said Flint manager Sawyer Bauer.
