Lugnuts Win, 4-2, Extend Streak to 4 Games
|
Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Cooley Law School Stadium.
Lansing pitcher Thomas Engledow did his part in helping his team defeat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. With the loss, Wisconsin is 5-7.
Bill Allen had a big 3-run home run for the Lugnuts in the bottom of the first inning. With Lansing leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Blake Brown and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lugnuts ahead, 4-0.
Said losing manager Bryan Weinstock: "I think Susan Sarandon said it, 'Hit it where they ain't.' We didn't do a very good job of that tonight."
