Westside Beats Beloit in Extra Innings
|
The Westside Woolly Mammoths beat the Beloit Snappers, 4-3. Westside pitcher and Scottsdale, Arizona, native Mark Johnston led the way. Brent Catino, now 1-2, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The save went to Dustin Cuella, number 1 for him.
Westside relied on the hitting of Everett Perry to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Woolly Mammoths on top, 4-3. For the game, Perry had 2 triples and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Mark just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Westside manager Kyle Halupka.
Westside is now 2-8.
