Riding the 3-hit performance of the former first round draft pick Virgil Towns, the Fort Wayne TinCaps stopped the Lansing Lugnuts, 6-1. Vincent Hernandez got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. The loss drops Lansing to 2-2.

In the bottom of the sixth, Fort Wayne shortstop Toddrick Winn put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 1st home run of the year. Lansing pitcher Sting Drager served it up. Just like that, the TinCaps were ahead, 3-1.
