Dow Diamond was the site of the home opener for the Great Lakes Loons. The contest featured a prime matchup between Alexander Ozenne of the visiting Lake County Captains and Sammy Marsh of the Loons. The final score was 4-0, the Captains getting the win. Alexander Ozenne turned in the best performance.
Somondre Lewis had a direct impact on the outcome. Lewis contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Lake County up, 2-0.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Lewis told the Lake County Citizen.
