Cardinals Fall Short, 4-3, at Chicago
|
The St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox provided some drama for the home crowd.
Chicago pitcher Rodrigo Ortiz had a large part in his team beating the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Chicago reliever Isaac Palumbo snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dwight N'Diaye shouldered the loss. Ayden Cook earned the save for Chicago, his 2nd of the year.
Chicago took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Heath Rogers hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, White Sox.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said White Sox manager Tristan Scoggins.
The loss makes St. Louis 2-3.
