Bartlett Leads Charge, Florida Blasts Red Sox
Florida beat Salem in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Florida Fire Frogs polished off the Salem Red Sox by the score of 13-0. The largest share of the credit belonged to left fielder Sylvester Bartlett. Bartlett hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Fire Frogs. John Marquardt picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-0 on the season. He struck out 8 and walked 1 in 5 innings, while yielding no runs.

With Florida leading 10-0 in the bottom of the eighth, Bartlett came up to bat against Salem pitcher Nick Gary. Bartlett hit a cutter to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Fire Frogs on top, 13-0.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Florida manager Nicolás Colunga.

With the victory, the Fire Frogs record stands at 27-33.
