Mariners Fall to Blues, 7-3
|
The Memphis Blues beat the Seattle Mariners, 7-3, at Blues Stadium. Mario Brown starred for Memphis. He was 2-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs. The win puts Memphis at 1-2.
Ronaldo Valtierra had a big 2-run triple for the Blues in the bottom of the first inning. With Memphis leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Ward Heikkila and swatted a triple to center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blues ahead, 3-0.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Valtierra.
