Rangers Take Shellacking, Lose 14-1
The Texas Rangers started the 2061 season not with a bang but with a whimper, falling, 14-1, to the New York Yankees at Globe Life Park in Arlington. First Baseman Ryan Penryn, who led the NL in OPS with 1.030 in 2056, was the top performer for New York.

With New York leading 10-0 in the top of the fifth, Penryn came up to bat against Texas pitcher Benjamin Kandell. Penryn hit a sinker to left for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Yankees on top, 13-0.

In postgame comments to the New York Bulletin, Penryn said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
