Another Day, Another Win for Gnomes
|
The Yuma Gnomes stopped the Tempe Impalas, 6-1, behind an impressive performance from Eric Eckard. The 21-year old catcher made life miserable for Tempe pitching. He was 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The last-place Impalas have dropped 4 straight games.
The Gnomes got a big at-bat from designated hitter Isaiah Bailey. For the game, Bailey went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 8th double of the season gave Yuma a 1-0 lead.
"Right now, things are falling our way," said Yuma manager Ryan Guardado.
