Roughnecks Come Up Short at Buckeye, 6-5
|
The Buckeye Quahogs defeated the Ahwatukee Roughnecks, 6-5. Doing his part was designated hitter Jordan Bowlen, who went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3. Buckeye now sports a record of 14-15.
Had Blake Pinkowski not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Pinkowski hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Quahogs.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Pinkowski told the Buckeye Citizen.
