Bowman, Threshers Too Much for Gauchos
Clearwater beat Glendale at Pirate City Complex, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to catcher Van Bowman. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Clearwater starter Grizzly Barry was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Josh McKelvey got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Bowman contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Clearwater in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Bowman took a fastball from Elijah Quevedo and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Threshers to leap in front, 3-1.

"Nice win for us," said Bowman. "Now we'll go after the next one."

Clearwater is now 8-7.
