The Bullhead City Catfish defeated the Chandler Ranchers, 6-2, at Ballpark of Hanapepe. Alex Stevens was a standout performer for Bullhead City. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Artur Fernández was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Nixon Frazier earned the save, his 1st.
Bullhead City used the timely hitting of Gabriel Hidalgo to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Catfish on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're going through a bad spell," said Chandler manager Gerardo Hernández.
The misery continues for the Ranchers, who have now dropped 13 in a row.
