The Buckeye Quahogs topped the Peoria Pride, 6-0, in Arizona Rookie League action at Camelback Ranch. The game was highlighted by the performance of Buckeye pitcher Andy Piper. Piper, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 5, and allowing no runs. The third-place Quahogs now have a win-loss record of 12-13.

Buckeye used a clutch at-bat from Nando Nuñez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Quahogs ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"When Andy is in the zone, it's kind of like -- good luck," said Buckeye manager Justin Ellis.
