Blue Devils Win, 6-3, Versus Florence
|
With Julio Lorenzo leading the charge, the Flagstaff Blue Devils defeated the Florence Swordfish, 6-3. Lorenzo was 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Devils. Flagstaff reliever Cameron Wolak was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Ezra Shea. Gonzalo Santos closed the door for Flagstaff, picking up his 4th save of the year.
Lorenzo had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-2 curveball from Ezra Shea, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Blue Devils a 6-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Lorenzo.
"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Lorenzo.
The defeat makes Florence 12-12.
