Buckeye Decked, 15-0, by Pride
|
Peoria and Buckeye got after it at Surprise Stadium.
The Peoria Pride clobbered the Buckeye Quahogs, 15-0, at Surprise Stadium. Peoria designated hitter Taffarel Calvo led the onslaught. He was 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Ken De La Rosa was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Engelbert DePauw. Lukas Santillan closed the door for Peoria, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Peoria used the hitting of Joshgun Zhalmuken to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pride on top, 8-0. For the game, Zhalmuken had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Bad day," Buckeye manager Easton Lins said. "New day tomorrow."
The Quahogs, at 2-19, have lost 4 in a row.
