Curve Suffer One-Run Loss at Somerset
|
Somerset Patriots starter Roy McMahan led his team to victory over the Altoona Curve, 3-2. The right-hander was locked-in. Vinny Fonseco got credit for the save for Somerset. It was his 8th of the year. Somerset has run its win streak to 5 straight.
Mack Wong had a big solo home run for the Patriots in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Somerset leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a splitter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Brian Byrne and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Patriots on top, 3-1.
"The vibe's good," said Somerset manager Alex Chavez. "We've got to keep it going."
