The Peoria Pride had to overcome a good performance from Tempe pitcher Oliver Brown to claim a 3-2 win at Peoria Sports Complex. Brown went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Peoria reliever Jordan Pineda picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Miles Kilgore absorbed the loss. Gio Sliwinski earned the save for Peoria, his 3rd.

Peoria used the timely hitting of Winston Ritchie to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pride on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Ritchie told the Peoria Herald.

The Impalas, now 3-9, continue their slow start.
