Providence designated hitter Tommy Lehmann had a good game, even if his team did not. The Crabs dropped a 6-5 decision to Akron at Holyoke Grounds. Lehmann went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Erik Burris, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save. The win lifted the Akron record to 16-12.

Akron won the game in part because of Dylan Chia. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the RubberDucks ahead, 2-0. For the game, Chia had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Chia said after the game.
