Doran Spins Perfect Game Against Sea Dogs
|
Wichita Pilots starter Carson Doran was as good as a pitcher can be, as he hurled a perfect game against the Portland Sea Dogs.
In doing so, Doran accomplished one of the most difficult feats in baseball and one that will put his name in the record books.
"I can tell you I've dreamed about a day like this," Doran told the press after the game. "Now that I've done it, the feeling is even better."
In his splendid 5-0 victory at Hadlock Field, Doran yielded no hits, walked none and had 9 strikeouts. In the historic outing he retired 27 successive batters.
For the year, Doran has a 2-1 record with a 2.33 ERA in 5 starts.
