The Clearwater Threshers topped the Buckeye Quahogs, 6-5, in Florida Rookie League action at Pirate City Complex. The game was highlighted by the performance of Clearwater pitcher Grizzly Barry. The winner was Clearwater reliever Brock Woods, now 1-0. The loser was Doug Wells. Zach Johnson was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

Rodman Bryant went 1 for 3 for Clearwater. The 17-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Doug Wells. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Bryant, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

With the loss, Buckeye falls to 0-3.
