Patriots Resilient in 3-2 Win Over New Haven
Arm & Hammer Park was host to some intense drama.

In a low-scoring affair between the Somerset Patriots and the New Haven Ravens, pitcher Diontay Thomas was the difference between victory and defeat. The Somerset left-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Patriots win. Somerset pitcher Yoanis Duran got the win, upping his record to 1-2. Fidalgo Santiago got the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jonathan Preston in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Fidalgo Santiago to win the game for Somerset. The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame remarks, Preston hailed his team's "single-minded determination."

The loss puts New Haven at 15-9.
