Fisher Cats Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
In a tight contest between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Somerset Patriots, Cristian Esquibel was the determining factor. The New Hampshire right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. The win belonged to D.J. Sundown in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Kean Nagai took the loss for Somerset. The Fisher Cats, now 14-7, have been red hot.
Dylan Dai came through with a big-time hit for New Hampshire. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Somerset manager Alex Chavez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
