Oliva goes 3-for-3 to Fuel Metros Offense
|
Metros second baseman Butch Oliva left his mark on his team's 8-5 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Oliva was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for Quebec in the contest. Rolón Iñiguez nailed down his 5th save. The defeat makes Binghamton 14-10.
Thunder Bay, Canada-born Kelvin Reed came through in the clutch. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded and the Metros trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Quebec on top.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Oliva.
