Starting pitcher Heath Spires gave the Portland Sea Dogs a rock-solid performance, helping them defeat the Erie SeaWolves, 3-2, in 10 innings. The win puts Portland at 12-9.

Portland got a clutch hit from Donovan Bermudez. The center fielder launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Erie manager Jonathan Stout.
